Walter Hobhouse,〔(NPG details )〕 DD (1862-1928) was an eminent Anglican priest〔‘HOBHOUSE, Rev. The 2nd son of Bishop Edmund Hobhouse〔(National Library of New Zealand )〕 he was born on 5 April 1862 and educated at Eton and New College, Oxford. He was Fellow and Lecturer of Hertford College, Oxford from1884 to 1887; and then a Student 〔A Student at Christ Church is what elsewhere is called a Fellow〕 and Tutor of Christ Church, Oxford from 1887〔''University Intelligence'' The Times (London, England), Wednesday, 11 May 1887; pg. 9; Issue 32069〕 to 1894.
